(New York, NY) – Stacey Barron, Brooklyn native, will run her first marathon this Sunday - the ING NYC Marathon – with the sub-elite runners! Her NYC Half-Marathon time of 1:22:57 qualified her to run with this category, which is an accomplishment most runners will never achieve – especially not in their first marathon! Barron is sponsored by New York City based women’s athletic apparel company, ellasport inc. Below are pictures of Stacey in the outfit she’ll race in on Sunday.
As a sub-elite category runner, Barron will enjoy lots of perks! Instead of starting amongst a sea of people where she would have to try to pass people to stay on pace, she will start toward the front of the pack, so all she has to worry about is not running too fast too soon. Barron will also be part of the motorcade that includes the professional runners and a police escort to the Fort Wadsworth start on Staten Island, where there is a special warm up area, and recovery area.
